We are almost at the end of our Leadership In Action program 2023! With week after week of inspiring workshops and progress on their civil liberties projects, we are so proud of our young cohort's growth throughout this whole experience. A huge thank you to all of our workshop facilitators, with some help coming from community organizations, such as Asian Mental Health Project, Cold Tofu, and Okaeri! Our most recent session (pictured above) featured a walking tour of Chinatown with Katie Wang (from Chinatown Community for Equitable Development), where they covered topics like tenants' rights, affordable housing, and gentrification.

We are so excited for our Leadership in Action cohort to finally present their civil liberties projects! Reminder that the Culmination Ceremony will take place on April 1st from 1-4PM in the Japanese American National Museum Aratani Central Hall! Friends and Family may attend.

Nikkei Community Internship: NCI is a paid 8-week program designed to foster and connect young leaders to the Japantown community. College students are given the opportunity to gain awareness for the remaining Japantowns (San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles) while also building networks, learning professional skills, and making an impact in the Japanese American community.
