Job Description:
Our mission at Terasaki Budokan is to provide a facility in downtown Los Angeles for youth, families, and seniors that offers sports, community activities, and opportunities to connect visitors to Japanese American culture and a vibrant, sustainable Little Tokyo.
The NCI intern will support long-term projects and day-to-day operations. Direct oversight will be provided by Ryan Lee, Director of Terasaki Budokan, but the NCI intern will work closely with all of the staff members from our team.

Projects & Day to Day Activities:
I was working on different programs and events that were held at the Budokan during the summer. Some of these events included:
Okaeri Matsuri - celebration during pride month for Nikkei LGBTQ community.
Ripple Effect: Suicide Prevention Walk
Sake at the Park - large fundraiser for LTSC where people did food and wine tasting along with some live entertainment
Nikkei Celebration in Boyle Heights - Parade/Festival celebrating the history and presence of Japanese Americans in Boyle Heights
Favorite Memories:
During our Friday workshops, all of the interns would have to fit and cram into the elevator to get in and out of the building and in doing so we took some wild .5 photos!
