2024 Summer Camp Season Has Ended!

☀️We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 2024 Summer Camps! This year, we brought together nearly 300 youth across five locations in Southern California for a fun week of learning and cultural exploration. Our campers, ranging in age from 7 to 13, participated in activities that celebrated Japanese American culture and heritage, guided by our incredible team of Junior Counselors and Counselors. From Japanese Puppet Theater to Omamori to Undoukai, our new curriculum offered something for everyone. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers, parents, and community partners, who made this year's summer camps an unforgettable experience!

2024 Nikkei Community Internship: FINISH!

Our 2024 Nikkei Community Internship recently wrapped up with a memorable Closing Retreat in Northern California, where our interns explored the historic Japantowns of San Jose and San Francisco. This summer, our interns gained invaluable experience working with various organizations and businesses within the Japanese American community, contributing their energy and passion to preserving our cultural heritage. The Closing Retreat was the perfect way to celebrate their accomplishments, as they connected with fellow interns, reflected on their journeys, and deepened their ties to the community. Stay tuned for more NCI content on our social media! 👋

Thank You to Our Counselor Team <3

We could not have done summer camps without our caring team of young leaders! 😊 Your dedication, creativity, and leadership brought our new curriculum to life and created unforgettable experiences for our campers. From planning and teaching workshops to fostering a fun and safe environment, you were the heart of our program. Thank you for your hard work, passion, and commitment to Kizuna’s mission! We hope to see you all next year! 👋
